None of the nine Romanian and foreign construction works companies who had bought the task book for the rehabilitation of the Bucharest historical center appeared at a tender organized by the Bucharest City Hall in this regard on Monday.

The situation leads to a third postponement of rehabilitation works in the Romanian capital, programmed to start by the end of June, one year later than initially announced.

The companies that failed to join the tender despite procuring the task book were Strabag AG (Austria), OPCA - Obras Publicase Cimento Armado SA (Spain), SC Spedition UMD SRL (Bacau - Romania), Porr Construct SRL (Romania), Bau Unter Nehmung Ganit Graz (Romanian-German group), SC Tehnologica Radion SRL (Romania), SC Euroconstruct Trading '98 SRL (Romania) and Sedesa SRL (Romanian-Greek company).

Authorities requested participation guarantees of 200,000 euro as the interested companies had to prove that they made similar works in the past five years, with a value of at least 20 million euro.
