The Romanian Savings House (CEC) launches its first credit card on Thursday. The MasterCard card will be usable both on Romanian territory and abroad, for electronic payments and ATM/EPOS operations.

The news comes as due-to-be-privatized bank reported a net profit of 12.6 billion RON in the first quarter of 2006, with total assets value up by 400 million RON, according to a company press release.

CEC says its main target for 2006 is boosting its market share by keeping its current clients and luring others, both natural persons and companies, with a series of new banking products and services.
