Miercuri, 12 aprilie 2006, 0:00

At Calafat, in the county of Dolj, approximately 100 persons are to be evacuated, following a breach in the dam that separates the Danube and an urban utility channel. Twenty households have been flooded. Authorities ensure that the situation is under control.

The Danube river flow reached the city of Galati on Wednesday morning, yet no major problems occurred.

In Constanta, the waters are beyond the critical level in three out of 12 townships along the riverbank. Tens of ha of agricultural land and forest are under waters. Authorities are prepared to evacuate the population if the case.

The debit of the Danube at the entry point into Romania reached 14,100 cm/s compared to the average April level of 7,900 cm/s.
