Romanian industrial production rose 3.5 percent in January-February this year, compared to the same period in 2005, with a 2.9 percent growth in February alone, according to data from the National Statistics Institute (INS) published on Monday.

The total business figure of industrial companies was up 9.2% in the covered period. Compared to February 2005, it rose 10.9% in February this year.

Productivity in the industry sector also grew by 7.4%.

In the first two months of the year, the main primary energy resources totaled 7.18 million tons of oil equivalent, 4.3 million tons of which in domestic production.
