Romanian Economy minister Codrut Seres told the Senate’s Abuse Research Commission that he was aware of the presence in the institution he managed of former secret service agents with economic background and experience, and on their current positions following fair examinations.

The former agents are now public servants, most of them working in the external economy sectors within the Ministry. Codrut Seres appreciated their activity as a valuable contribution to the proper functioning of the institution.

The minister did not give a precise figure of the former agents activating in the ministry and denied knowing the former agents situation in other ministries.
