The creative industries phenomenon will be the economic boom of the next 10 to 20 years just as the Internet lead the wave of change in the world economy in the last decade, says a Romanian creative industry expert.

Marius Ursache, Chief Executive Officer Grapefruit, made the statement at the launch of the Guide of Creative Industries in Iasi, the Romanian city selected by the British Council to represent Romania in the network of creative cities in South-East Europe.

The British council launched the Creative Cities program in 2005 as part of the Creative Industries theme – the international program implemented at city level to promote creative ideas and provide models for economic and social regeneration.

The Guide launched in Iasi includes private companies, cultural institutions and publicly-funded media, providing a general image of the Iasi economic and creative industry potential.
