Results of primary tests on hens in a village close to Bucharest show the bird flu is closing in to Bucharest. The bird flu virus was isolated following fast tests in the village of Pruni in the Ilfov county, which surrounds the Romanian capital.

The announcement came shortly after a national laboratory isolated the virus in Grivita, in the Ialomita county, while three other hotbeds were identified in the Constanta county – the townships of Topraisar, Vlahi and Crangu.
