Share-based open funds registered a 2.1% drop in February this year, but have reported an average positive result of 5.6% since the beginning of the year, according to an analysis by the National Union of the Organization for Collective Investment – UNOPC.

It says the evolution of the funds was influenced considerably by fluctuations of stocks transacted at the Bucharest Stock Exchange during the period.

It also reports a first for the Romanian investment fund industry – the appearance of the Private Commercial Fund specialized on trade assets. The Fund is managed by Globinvest.

The market share consolidation process for diversified funds has continued, reaching 36.8% with a 1.4% boost in February. Stock funds reported a 0.2% increase, up to a 25% market share.
