The Bucharest Appeals Court rejected an appeal against a decision to arrest businessman Ovidiu Tender preventively as groundless on Monday. That means Tender, suspected of participation to an organized crime group, will stay in preventive arrest where he was placed March 3.

Tender’s attorneys said on closing session on Monday that the decision was illegal and abusive and they would have submit criminal complaints about it.

They had asked for Tender’s release on medical grounds and objected that the arrest warrant was accepted without waiting for tests to prove whether the businessman was medically fit for detention.
