Self-suspended Executive President of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) Adrian Nastase and the Bucharest antenna's leader Dan Ioan Popescu might be excluded from the party following scandals revolving around them that brought damages to the PSD image.

The members of the party are to issue a verdict on this issue next Wednesday.

Popescu said he was doubting the credibility of those asking for his political support removal, according to Radio Total.

The PSD leader Mircea Geoana will hold talks with party colleagues to emphasize the main reasons that damaged the party’s image.

Both Adrian Nastase and Dan Ioan Popescu are under investigations on grounds of corruption, and chose to suspend themselves from the party positions.
