The mobile phone company Cosmote Romania recorded a 9.8 mln Euros loss, according to a press release by OTE – holder of 70 per cent of Cosmote shares. The company’s revenues reached 3.5 mln Euros.

Cosmote reported 21 mln euros loss within July – December 2005, while revenues topped 5,1 mln Euros.

Cosmote Romania closed down 2005 with 20 mln euros loss before paying taxes, up 79 per cent than the previous year, however, the customers reached 49,000 persons.

The company reported 8 mln euros revenues for 2005, up 20 per cent compared to 2004.

Cosmote Romania launched again operations in December 2005, as part of the Greek group OTE, under RomTelecom (30 percent of shares) and Cosmote Grecia (70%) tenure.

The Greek Cosmote boasted net profits of aprox. 340 mln euro, up 10 per cent than in 2004. Revenues went up 13.2% to 1.79 bln Euros.
