Two prosecutors of the National Anti-Corruption Department (DNA) searched the building where House speaker Adrian Nastase lives once again on Friday. It’s the fourth time this week when prosecutors search the house on Zambaccian St. in Bucharest, a property that stands at the core of a high profile graft case against ex-PM Nastase.

This time, prosecutors searched an apartment belonging to Nastase’s sun, Andrei. They are not allowed to search Adrian Nastase’s own apartment yet, as their request in this regard has been rejected by two different parliamentary bodies so far.

Romanian law says searches at a property owned by a parliamentarian must be approved by the Parliament. Prosecutors must now ask the parliamentary group of Nastase’s party, PSD, to approve the move and then ask the House to approve it with a majority of votes.

Nastase has called the move a politically motivated abuse against him.
