Queen Elizabeth endorsed Romania's EU Accession Treaty Thursday, following the ratification of the document by the House of Lords in the British Parliament on February 7 and by the House of Commons in November last year.

United Kingdom will become the twelfth out of 25 member states to have ratified Romania and Bulgaria's EU Accession treaties, following Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Cyprus, Greece, Estonia, Spain, Italy and Malta.

In the Netherlands, only the Lower Chamber of the Parliament ratified the Treaty. In order to complete the parliamentary procedure, the ratification has to receive the approval of the First Chamber too. The ratification will be then enforced with a decree of the Dutch Queen.
