Democrat Liberal (PD-L) Liviu Negoita, Bucharest District 3 mayor is the voters' top choice for the seat of Bucharest Mayor should local elections take place next Sunday, an Avangarde study shows. According to the results, if Negoita would run for Mayor, he would get 19,3% of the cast votes, closely followed by Social Democrat (PSD) Sorin Oprescu with 16,2% and local businessman Silviu Prigoana with 14%.

Bucharest District 3 under Negoita is seen as the fastest developing district of the capital city in terms of infrastructure and cleaning operations.

The survey reveals that Bucharest citizens prefer to vote for someone who is educated (25.1%) trustworthy (17.4%) and who would fight against corruption (10.9%).

According to the survey data results, current Bucharest mayor Adriean Videanu would receive only 5% of the votes if elections would be held this Sunday. The Avangarde survey was requested by Social Democrats (PSD) and circulated in the Parliament.
