Prime Minster Calin Popescu Tariceanu does not agree with the closing of both Bucharest airports during the NATO summit, given the fact that such a measure would cause losses to both freight and commercial transport, Government spokesperson Camelia Spataru informed, quoted by NewsIn. The prime minister demanded the Transport Minister to find alternate solutions, still able to ensure the security of foreign officials who will participate in the summit.

Transport Ministry state secretary Antonel Tanase had announced on Monday that the Otopeni (Henri Coanda) and the Baneasa airports will be shut throughout the NATO summit and that some traffic restrictions will be also imposed in the same period on the road that connects Bucharest to the airports (DN1).

Most flights are supposed to land in Timisoara and Constanta.
