Bucharest Appeals Court has overruled a Bucharest General Council decision which ruled that cable operators are compelled to bury all installed cables, Romanian news agency Mediafax informs. Cable Communication Association appealed the Council's decision because the urban development plan of the City does not contain such a provision.

Court representatives declared that the Council's decision was absurd because cable operators were not offered any alternative solution. He added that authorities did not consider the costs of such a solution which would be incurred by private actors on the market.

They added that Council members have no idea that there was no underground infrastructure which would be needed to fulfill such obligations. Moreover, Infrastructure Coordination director Radu Alexandru declared for Mediafax that the Court's decision was exceptionally attacked and a final decision will be taken on June 2 even though the Appeals Court ruled a definitive decision.
