One of Bucharest's main boulevards, Magheru, is placed 19th in a list of Europe's most expensive urban areas in terms of commercial rent costs, a report by real estate company Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) shows, based on the renting value in various European cities.

The rent value for commercial space on the Bucharest boulevard is estimated by JLL at 1,500 euro for square meter, a level that exceeds the prices practiced in Stockholm on Biblioteksgatan with 1,419 euro or in Lisbon - Chiado with 1,200 euro, Romanian news agency Mediafax informs.

Moreover, in Helsinki, on Aleksanterinkatu avenue, rents are as low as 1,188 euro/sq. meter, thus lower than the prices practiced in Romania on Magheru. Paris occupies the first position in the JLL top, with a 7,360 euro fee per square meter, on Champs Elysees. Rents on Stoleshnikov Lane in Moscow are as high as 7,035 euro while in London, on New Bond Street they stand at 6,762 euro.

In the region, Bucharest is exceeded only by Prague, where rents on na Prikope are 1,800 euro/sq. meter and by Budapest with Vaci Street where prices are as high as those in Prague. Over the past year, rent prices in Bucharest increased by 13%.
