The new subway line, linking Nicolae Grigorescu Bld to the belt road surrounding Bucharest is officially launched on Wednesday by Transports minister Ludovic Orban, a press release of the institution informs.

The new line links Bucharest's third district with the closest town on the belt road surrounding the capital city. The line is 4,75 km long and has four stops. The new subway will be open for the public on November 20, 2008. The investment amounted to 145 million euro, with money coming both from the state budget and from the European Investment Bank, Metrorex informed.
