PepsiAmericas, one of the world's most important fizzy drinks production companies, will open a new plant in Romania in September, after having previously invested 150 million dollars, according to Romanian press agency NewsIn. The plant in Dragomiresti, Ilfov county (South-East) will be the company's biggest production unit in Europe, stretching over 30,000 square meters.

The new PepsiAmericas plant is situated in the Western part of Romania's main city, near the Ciorogarla of the Bucharest-Pitesti motorway.

In 2007, PepsiAmericas took over Quadrant Amroq Beverages (QAB) - the authorised bottler and distributor for Pepsi Max, Pepsi Light, Mountain Dew, Mirinda, 7up, Prigat, Lipton Ice Tea, Gatorade and Roua Muntilor for Romania and the Republic of Moldova.

PepsiAmericas finalised in May this year an investment worth nearly ten million dollars, used to modernise and enlarge the production line capacity for Roua Muntilor mineral water in the plant for Covasna.

The main companies on the sodas' national market are PepsiAmericas, Coca-Cola, European Drinks and Romaqument
