Dacia will launch SUV in 2010, which will be followed by two or three bigger models on the BO Logan platform, Renault's operational manager Patrick Pelata declared in Bucharest. He says that there won't be a Dacia to meet five starts after the EuroCAP tests soon, since the newest impact tests feature some conditions which Renault do not consider important for safety and will include them because it would increase the price.

SUV is the sixth model built by Logan. Pelata didn’t want to give more details about the future models to avoid unnecessary competition. They could be a crossover and a sedan bigger than Logan berlina. But it is certain they will be built on the BO Logan platform, due to its versatility to support from models smaller than Sandero to SUV.

The Renault official forecasted the car market to contract by 10% next year, adding that Dacia will produce less as well, with a probable drop in sales for Logan and Sandero.

Dacia will not get five EuroCAP stars, because "there are aspects which are not important for safety and we will not include them. People are not willing to pay for new technologies, like they used to. That's why Dacia is successful in Occident, especially in Germany, because one pays for fewer things, for the ones one needs".

Pelata added that the Logan platform sales will amount to 40% from the entire sales made by the French group. Logan could be also produced in Turkey and Argentina, but nothing has been yet decided.

Suv Dacia will not be present at the Frankfurt Saloon, but it will be present with Stepway, the newer Sandero version. On the other hand, Pelata gave away that there will be four electric cars, three to be launched in 2011 and one in 2012. The methods of charging the electric vehicles are still debated.
