Proprietatea Fund shares will be listed, starting with Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at the Bucharest Stock Exchange after five years since the Fund became a company on shares. Romanian news agency Agerpres notes that this is the most important event on the stock exchange in the last years.

The actions have a nominal value of 1 leu/title and brokers estimate that in the beginning they will be sold from 0.5 – 08 lei/share. Representatives of the Fund’s managerial team declared that the listing will triple the liquidity of the fund and will enhance the attention on Romania.

The event has been longed by those who received shares to the Proprietatea Fund as compensation for their properties lost in the Communist period. Proprietatea Fund is a closed investment company that was created to compensate those people who lost properties during communism and cannot be returned by other means.
