Bucharest’s general council decided on Monday that the referendum on the law of the capital city should be organized on June 26. Moreover, the seven initial questions were replaced by two questions.

The two questions were proposed by the Democratic Liberal Party and they are:

Do you wish to have general counselors elected through uninominal vote like district mayors?

Do you want a city with seven administrations controlled by 217 counselors elected on party lists?

The organization of the referendum will cost 10 million lei and the council also voted for the allocation of the money. The referendum remains just a survey, worth 2.5 million euro considering that its judicial effects are not clear, Bucharest prefect Mihai Atanasoaiei declared.
