Romanian banks count on the increased holiday spendings to attract new clients, NewsIn agency informs. Strategies include lower interest reates for credits and promotions on consumption credits.

As holidays approach, bank reorganize their credit offer by reducing the payments and the commissions due to be paid. For old customers, credits are a lot cheaper while new customers receive promotional offers.

Another factor that might increase spendings in this period is the money received from Romanians working abroad, returning home for holidays along with with their savings, estimated at some one billion euro for December. Romanians working abroad might send some 5.5 billion euro which might contribute to Romania's current account deficit, experts argue.
