Euro exceeded the psychological threshold of 3.7 Romanian Ron on Monday. The European currency was rated at 3.7230 Romanian Ron today, Romanian television Antena 3 informed. Later in the day, the Romanian National Bank (BNR) announced a reference rate of 3.7106 RON/euro for Tuesday, January 15.

When trading opened in the morning on Monday, the exchange rate stood at 3.6985 Romanian Ron for one euro, but it rapidly grew at 3.7230 Romanian Ron due to the demand for foreign currency. Dealers expect the depreciation to continue.

The official exchange rate announced by the Romanian National Bank on Friday was 3.662 Romanian Ron/1 euro.
