The new calculation formula for the car first registration tax presented by Romanian officials in Brussels on Wednesday was agreed on by the European Commission, although several details are still subject for discussion, said Adrian Ciocanea, head of the European Affairs Department, in an interview for Hotnews.ro.
"The documents introduced by Romanian officials are aligned to the European legislation", said Ciocanea. The aspects still to be negotiated do not refer to figures or sums, but to procedures. Under these circumstances, the infringement procedure against Romania may be suspended, the state secretary believes.
