Nokia will offer jobs in Romania for workers from the Bochum plant in Germany, about to be shut down, daily Rheinische Post informs, quoted by CNNMoney.com. The recent intention of Nokia to relocate its activity in Romania caused massive discontent in Germany, among employees as well as the general populace.

"Trade union IG Metall is not aware that such a plan exists, but that it will discuss with members possible further steps they would take in order to keep the plant in Bochum.

It said also that Nokia executives plan to meet next week with representatives of the trade union and politicians in order to discuss a socially acceptable redundancy package for workers", CNN informs.
