Renault, the company which owns Romania's most popular brand Dacia, plans to sell some 750,000 Logan models worldwide in 2008 and over 950,000 next year, as it launches the new Sandero hatchback and SUV models, Dacia director Francois Fourmont has told La Tribune.

He added that the production of the Romanian factory almost doubled in January, as compared to last year's data. In 2007, Renault sold over 367.000 Logan cars. This year the factory in Mioveni, Romania is set to produce 320,000 Logan cars, 50% more than in 2007.

Dacia Logan currently has four models: sedan, break, wagon and pick-up and this year, its producers will add Sandero and the SUV. Dacia official declared last year that the factory will produce 400,000 units in 2009 and more than a quarter will be exported.
