The union workers at S. C. Automobile Dacia Pitesti threaten to open a general strike. The first round of negotiations led to no agreement whatsoever, only one demand out of 13 being solved. Automobile Dacia officials will not make any statements until the negotiations are finished.

The settling session at the Labor Department, both parties failed to reach an agreement. The employees demand a salary growth of 50%. The latest labor conflict at Dacia was solved in February 2007, when an agreement was signed for the collective labor contract. According to the negotiations last year, the basic wages of Dacia employees were bound to grow in 2007, according to the responsibility degree of the employee, between 18.41% (for 9 and 10 responsibility levels) and 20.19% (for 1-5 responsibility levels).
