Fathi Taher plans to acquire the majority of shares in JW Marriott Bucharest, one of the biggest hotels in the Romanian capital city, and mandated law firm Bostica si Asociatii to negotiate with all shareholders, a press release of the law firm reads. Law firm representatives declared that they will negotiate with Strabag and the Bank of Cyprus and all parties interested to sell their shares.

Fathi Taher declared his interest in purchasing JW Marriott shares and said he even made an offer to Strabag a year ago but he added that he did not receive an answer then. Currently, Fathi Taher holds 10% of JW Marriott Bucharest while Strabag controls 55% of the total shares. Moreover, ONT Carpati owned by Bank of Cyprus is one of the hotel's shareholders.
