Half of Romanians want to buy a car before 2010

Over half of Romanians intend to purchase a car during the following two years, compared to only 30% of Hungarians, 33% of Germans, 37% of Polish and 39% of the Czechs, a study conducted by GE Money the five EU countries reveals. Also half of Romanians say that, in case they decide to buy a car, they would buy a new one.

Concerning the type of cars, 39% of Romanians and 41% of Hungarians would buy a foreign brand, while only 6% of the Germans would do so. Still, Romanians are willing to pay only some 8,400 euro for a new car. In all five countries, the money to buy the car should come from personal savings. In case this is not possible, the following options are a personal needs credit or a car credit.

In this case, Romanians are willing to pay the highest rates - 350 euro per month, compared to 260 in Germany or 110 in Hungary. 32% of Romanians are willing to pay the leasing in 4 to 5 years.
