July brings about a wave of price rises which affects almost all sectors in Romania. Natural gas price will grow by 12.5% while electricity prices by 4.4%. Starting Tuesday, cigarettes will cost more and will have visual anti-smoking warnings.

Romanian news television Realitatea TV informs that even cabs in Bucharest increased their tariffs. Moreover, today, the controversial environment tax, replacing the first car registration tax comes into force.

However, some good news: employees will pay 1.5% less for welfare contribution, letting the average gross salary to amount to 1,300 Romanian Ron.
