AAA Auto, one of the biggest used car dealers in Central Europe registered a decrease of over 34% of its sales on the Romanian market which, for the Czech company accounts for 2% of the total European sales, portfolio.hu reads.

AAA Auto managed to sell only 840 cars in the first six months of the year as compared to 1,200 cars in the same period last year. Overall, the group's sales dropped by 9% in five European countries, amounting to some 35,000 units. The group sold some 19,000 cars in the Czech Republic (a 18% decrease), almost 9,000 in Slovakia, over 4,000 in Hungary and almost 2,000 in Poland.

The company will decide next year whether it would close down its office in Romania where results are not as expected. AAA Auto closed down its branch in Poland this month due to losses registered recently.

AAA Auto entered the Romanian market at the end of 2005 and its sales estimations were favorable. However, last year, sales dropped as compared to 2006 from 3,100 cars sold to 2,600.
