The new Dacia Sandero is also to blame for the future Renault personnel cuts in the West, CFE-CGC trade unionist Dominique Chauvin has declared, quoted by www.20minutes.fr. In order to counter the effects of an economic crisis, Renault prepares a plan of voluntary leave which will be ready by November and will end contracts with about 6,000 people. Plus, Standard&Poor's agency changed Renault's rating perspective from stable to negative due to the uncertainties of the company to avoid a pitfall.

Chauvin declared that Western factories that produce small class models are the first to see personnel cuts because some new low-cost models entered the market, like the new Renault model, Sandero.

Union members consider that Renault will cut some 6,000 jobs within companies in Europe and most affected will be those in France like the Sandouville one where the Laguna model is produced.

The website notes that personnel cuts will be made by 2009. Chauvin added that Renault does not respect its employees and that the producer neglect the French factories in the detriment of others.
