The IKEA store in Baneasa, north Bucharest reported almost 3 million visitors in the first year since its opening, with total sales amounting to 99.4 million euro, according to a company press release. The IKEA restaurant sold no less than 2.5 million Swedish minced meat balls and some 1.2 million hot dogs between September 1, 2007-August 31, 2008.

Furniture sales covered some 60% of the total sales at IKEA's first store in Romania, with the rest covering accessories and home decorations.
