AvtoVAZ, the producer of Lada cars, will pay 22 million euro to Renault to be allowed to build cars on the Logan platform in two year's time, Automotive News reports. The Russian car maker will pay 100 million euro for the B0 platform on which the Logan family of cars is based. It will also pay 120 million euro for the licenses of two Renault engines to be used on Lada cars in the future.

Renault took over 25% of AvtoVAZ for 1 billion euro this spring. The alliance became the third biggest car maker worldwide with over 7 million vehicles built annually.

Renault sold almost 2.5 million cars last year, when Nissan managed sales of 3.7 million cars and AvtoVAZ - 800,000 cars.
