The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) index covering the five financial investment societies reported further losses on Tuesday, reaching a 42-month low after the 10.5% fall on Monday. The general index also fell by over 4%.

The BET-C composite index fell 4.25% to 2,979.56 points, while BET, the index covering the ten most liquid stocks, lost 4.01% to 3,968.19 points. BET-FI, which covers the five financial investment societies (SIFs), reported the heaviest drop with -8.25% to 22,592.73 points.

The previous lower BET-FI level was reported in April 27, 2005, when it stood at 22,498.44 points.
