The car production at the Renault-owned Dacia Pitesti factory will be temporarily halted, on October 30 and 31, as well as on November 13 and 14. The producer announced that the measure was taken in order to adjust the production pace to the market demands.
The spare parts production, some sections of the Mechanical Plant, the CDK centre and the delivery service will continue to function during the four days.
During the nine months of the year, Dacia sold 194.165 units, 17% more than during the first nine months in 2007. During the same period, the global sales at Renault increased 2%, up to 1.88 million vehicles.
Dacia produces 1,350 units per day, the production after a four-days break being 5,000 units lower than scheduled.
