Romania registered the biggest economic advance within the European Union for the fourth consecutive month in September, the European statistics institute, Eurostat informs. Romania's sales increased by 15% while at the level of the Union, it dropped by 0.4%.

After Romania, the report points Poland for its biggest commerce increase with 7.1% and Slovakia with 4.5% while Estonia and Latvia registered the biggest declines, of -9.9% and -13.4%. As compared to the previous month, Romania's retail sector occupies the fourth place in the EU, registering an advance of 0.8% in September.

EU member states reported a decrease in the retail sector, on average, by 0.1% in September as compared to August and those countries within the euro zone, a 0.2% decrease.
