Smithfield will reconsider its investment intentions for Romania due to the global economic crisis

Smithfield will contain its investment intentions for Romania, estimated at 1.2 billion dollars initially planned to materialize by 2012, due to the global economic crisis, Smithfield general director Bogdan Mihail declared quoted by NewsIn. Until now, the American company specialized in raising pigs invested in our country some 600 million dollars.

Smithfield intended to invest a total of 1.2 billion dollars but until now only 600 million dollars were invested. However, due to the global economic crisis, the company will contain its intentions. Smithfield is part of the Smithfield Foods, an American company that specializes in nurturing pigs.

Currently, Smithfield in Romania has over 1,000 employees and over 350,000 pigs nearby Arad, West Romania.
