Dacia will shut down production for 18 days, starting Thursday, November 20 until December 7 due to a significant decrease in sales. According to a press release, the measure was taken due to the current status of the car market both in Romania and abroad.

All employees will enter in a technical unemployment status and will receive 85% of the salary, according to the collective work contract and will take advantage of the daily meal tickets. Thus, only those employees working at the CKD Center and some from the dispatch will continue to work.

SAD vice president Ion Iordache declared that some 3,000 people will continue to go to work. He emphasized that the factory will not shut down but will temporarily close since losses are high but, he declared, not that high to lead to the closure of the entire factory.
