The Azomures chemical plant will send all its 2,000 employees to temporary unemployment, given the sudden decrease in fertilizer demand and the lack of storage for any further production, NewsIn informs, quoting union labor sources. The employees will stay at home between November 28 and January 12.

A week ago, Romania president Traian Basescu visited the plan and asserted his conviction - that the natural-gas dependent plant will not suffer because of the crisis, since the gas price will decrease. Two weeks ago, the plant had temporarily laid off some 230 workers and cut the production level to 50%.
