The wealth of Romanians seemed to have moderated at 7% of GDP in 2008 mainly due to the losses on the financial market, a UniCredit report reveals. Representatives of the financial group declared that in the upcoming period, the pace of growth will moderate at 7% per year.

In 2007 the wealth of Romanians increased by 13% and in 2006 by 14%. The study shows that the traditional products will regain their popularity in the upcoming period, in the detriment of investment funds and stock listings and the new pensions scheme will offer enough support for the accumulation of actives.

UniCredit reads that in 2008 the population's financial actives represented 27% of GDP, a level similar to the one forecast for this year.
