The National Union Block rejects the government's 2009 state budget and the social insurance budget for 2009 and demands further discussion on the ambiguous aspects of the budget. In a press release, union representatives underline that they would prefer to talk more over the budget rather than have a bad budget that would lead to complications.

The press release reads that union leaders acknowledge the fact that Romania needs a budget as soon as possible, but emphasizes that the budget must be in accordance with Romania's real priorities.

The Union block claims that negotiations with the executive needs to be resumed after they will receive enough information to understand where is Romania heading and what is the budget favoring. Talks on Monday, the press release reads, did not manage to point towards a clear understanding of the budget.
