Dacia announced the introduction of a new, cheaper Logan model, that would cost 5,900 euro, VAT included. The model is 500 euro cheaper than the cheapest Logan model so far. January was an extremely bad month for Dacia in Romania, as sales decreased by 70% compared to January 2008.

The new Logan model costs 5,900 euro, compared to MCV Logan which costs 8,200 euro or with the latest Sandero model which starts at 6,890 euro.

The crisis has seriously affected Dacia, which was forced to shut down the factory five times in the last several months alone.

In January, for the first time, sales in France exceeded those in Romania and company representatives declared that unless the company recovers by spring time, they will have to lay off some 4,000 people.
