Portuguese commercial centers developer Sonae Sierra decided to freeze works at three projects announced in 2008 for Bucharest, Craiova and Ploiesti, because of the lack of financing. The effective works have had begun only at the Craiova center, NewsIn informs. According to the executive manager of the company, Alvaro Portela, Sonae Sierra lost over 50 million Euros after the re-evaluation of the terrain and works at the Ploiesti and Craiova sites.

Pre-leasing contracts for the Craiova commercial center were already between 60 and 70%.

The banks are currently willing to support 60% of the cost for building such a center, less than the available financing in 2008, when it could have covered 80%.
