The volume of construction works in Romania dropped by 5% in the first quarter of the year, compared to the same period, last year, despite a 11.7% increase of construction works at residential buildings, Romania's National Statistics Institute data reveals.
In the first quarter of the year, the decrease of the construction works was determined by a 13.3% drop to engineering works and by 1.9% decrease of non residential buildings. In June 2009, the volume of construction works increased by 9.3%.
