Coface Agency reduced Romania's country branding from A4 to B. Country manager Cristian Ionescu declared that "Romania returned to the 2006 rating. Bearing in mind that the rating is on short-term, it can be upgraded as soon as the deductions will improve".

The B rating means that the economic and political environments are unstable and can lead to changing in the companies’ payment behaviours.

Cristian Ionescu: "The perspectives are rather grim for 2010. The 0.5 - 1% economic growth depends on the bigger economies coming out of the downturn. We will emerge from the crisis in the second or third semester of 2010."

Coface country branding analyses the risk of companies running into payment incapacity.
