The IMF mission in Romania will meet on Friday with Romanian incumbent President Traian Basescu, the chief of mission Jeffrey Franks said on Thursday evening. IMF met with the Romanian Central Bank (BNR) representatives to present the conclusions of the discussions had with the Finance minister and the Prime Minister.

"The discussions went very well and we showed them what we have so far talked with minister Pogea and Prime Minister Boc. Tomorrow [Friday] we will meet President Basescu", Franks said, quoted by Romanian press agency NewsIn.

He refused to make any other comments regarding the situation of the money delay from September 30 or regarding a possible change of the budget deficit targets.

Additionally, the IMF mission chief in Romania announced that the IMF and BNR will meet with the representatives of the main nine banks in Romania on November 18, in Brussels, to discuss the exposure of the financial institutions and to see "if there's a need for a reviewing."

Jeffrey Franks met and discussed on Thursday with BNR governor Mugur Isarescu, PM Emil Boc and Finance minister Gheorghe Pogea.
