Romania's Economy ministry will lay off this year 3545 people in companies and national companies it leads, a government's decision published today in the Official Journal reads. Most people, 1600 come from the National Mineral Coal Company. Initially, the normative act say the lay off of 2650 employees but the number increased to 3545.
The purpose of the governmental decision is to reorganize the activity of economic operators and obtain a competitive price on the market, the project read in its initial form. The personnel will benefit from financial aid in accordance with the laws.
Restructured companies will be integrated in two big companies, Electra and Hidroelectrica. The government recently approved this.
