Romania's future brand to be exported for tourism will not promote the seacoast, Romanian Regional Development and Tourism minister Elena Udrea told RFI reporters. Udrea said that the medieval cities will be definitely promoted. Romania's national tourism brand should be ready in May 24 or 25, the minister added.

"We managed to finally contract the services to create Romania's national tourism brand last year, which should be ready in May 24 or 25. After that, Romania will promote itself through this brand using European money. I believe they made a research in December, market studies are carried out and a committee made up of NGOs, professions and the civic society is constantly presenting a report. Six touristy products have been established, which can be representative for Romania today and may be attractive on the international tourism market. What I can tell you from what I know is that (...) the seacoast is not on the list. It was a surprise for me as well."

Reporter: Could you give us an example of what is on the list?

Elena Udrea: I can give you an example: the cultural tourism, the medieval cities. The company that won the contract for creating the national tourism brand is the biggest of this sort in the world and it has shaped many other national brands, including Brazil and Croatia.
